Author Guidelines
Preparing Your Manuscript
Submit manuscripts in clear academic English. Explain the research question, its relevance to aviation and the contribution of the work. Define abbreviations on first use and use terminology consistently.
For empirical research, the following structure is recommended: title, abstract, keywords, introduction, literature review or conceptual framework, methods, results, discussion, conclusion and references. Authors may adapt this structure for reviews, conceptual papers and other contributions.
Title, Abstract and Keywords
Use a concise, informative title. Provide an abstract summarising the purpose, approach, principal findings and contribution. Include keywords that accurately describe the subject and help readers discover the manuscript.
Files and Author Information
Upload an editable manuscript file through the journal's online submission system. Enter the full name, affiliation, country and email address of each author in the submission metadata. Add ORCID identifiers where available and identify the corresponding author. The author order in the metadata should match the agreed author order.
Tables, Figures and Supporting Materials
Number tables and figures consecutively and refer to each in the text. Provide descriptive captions, explain abbreviations and identify data sources. Supply legible figures and obtain permission for third-party materials where necessary. Include supporting materials when they are needed to understand or assess the research.
References
Use a consistent author–date citation style throughout the manuscript. Every in-text citation must have a corresponding reference-list entry, and every reference-list entry should be cited in the text. Include DOI links where available and check bibliographic details before submission.
Research Integrity and Declarations
Submit original work and disclose any related publication, preprint or overlapping submission in the comments to the editor. Identify the contributions of the authors and acknowledge assistance that does not qualify for authorship.
Include statements on funding, competing interests and data availability. For research involving human participants, provide the relevant ethics approval or exemption and describe consent procedures, as applicable. Protect confidential information and explain any restrictions on sharing data.
Disclose substantive use of generative AI or similar tools, including the purpose of the use. Authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality and integrity of the submitted work.
Submission
Create an account or log in, select “Submit Manuscript” and follow the submission steps. Check that all required files and metadata are complete before finalising the submission. Submission does not guarantee acceptance; manuscripts are assessed for their suitability for the journal.
